I very much enjoyed “Yoga in care homes”. I see from some of the other reviews that they were expecting something in the vein of your typical activities in care home book. I was also expecting something similar and was very pleased to find an entirely different book. I’ve enjoyed running the sessions for our residents and have good feedback from them, family and managers.

I recently attended a Train the Trainer Course with George. George is an excellent trainer and the 2 day course was relevant and very informative. The sessions lead themselves with George turning it the way he wanted.

Had my second day of train the trainer training at silver court, quantum care and on 16.06.17. The trainer was very informative and realistic. He was approachable and happy to answer questions. He put me at ease at the end of the first day, reassuring the group that he would be there to help if needed. After the presentations his feedback was constructive. He was professional but funny and laid back at the same time. I would love to attend training with him again. He also offered to send out feedback to us for our records which I think is great as it can be used as a tool for our future training.

This company ran a three day workshop on chair based exercise for my activities team (22 employees based across 16 sites). I contacted them after another training provider let us down. It was a lucky for us. They took over where the trainer from the other company left off. They clarified a lot of things that my team where confused about. I wold highly recommend both THCTC and will be using them for the rest of the contract. They have a unique friendly training style that involves all that attend. THCTC are a little more expensive than original providers, but worth much more than the additional cost.

"I've worked with the trainer and the Healthcare Training Company (THCTC) for nearly ten years. I asked himif he could put together a course for my team on working with dementia and challenging behaviour. I wanted something that would give them the experience of being an older person and see what it was like to communicate and live their daily lives. I hoped that this would give my staff a better understanding of the behaviour of residents. the trainer created a course for me that was very practical with an easy to understand format. There is a exploration of challenging behaviour in the context of dementia. Followed by a real life ageing experience and group feedback. It was this that had the greatest impact on how my team and the teams from our sister homes handled challenging behaviour after the course. The course has been a huge success with 5 sessions already run in the last three years. I would highly recommend the trainer and THCTC for either of the shelf or bespoke staff training."

It involved the regulations that are important, the importance of giving the client the right to choose the supplier that they want, to choose the doctor who they want to work with, and the importance of dignity when dealing with the clients. Also the choice to allow the clients to take medicine if they want to and at the time they want to take them, ensuring there is always enough medication and clients don't run out. To monitor and prevent dangers associated with medicine, need to read the home policies and procedures of the care home, to dispose medication without causing harm to the environment, to ensure that I keep up to date to keep up with the changes. "Interact is an organisation that supports young people on the autistic spectrum. Initially we asked The Healthcare Training company (THCTC) for training and support for staff members on how to minimise episodes of challenging behavior, de-escalate situations using as little emotional or physical force as possible. After first run two years ago we had our trainer back for a refresher the start of 2015. From this we asked THCTC to help develop a course for parents of young people with autism dealing with a variety of challenging situations at home and in the community. We jointly did six runs of this training across Essex to nearly a hundred parents and carers. The feed back from both bits of training has been excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending THCTC for both course/curriculum development and delivery. The training is well thought through and specific to student and organisation needs. Finally the teaching is lively, engaging and never never death by PowerPoint."
