Improving Activity Attendance

This course shows you how to get older people to attend and take part in activities in care settings.  All our courses are very practical, and you’ll learn techniques that are easy to apply on the care floor.  The course looks at the reasons why older people don’t take part in activities.  How to eliminate these.  How to create an activities program that creates and maintains interest in your residents.

Duration: 9am to 3.30pm via zoom.

By the end of the course delegates will have the knowledge to understand:

  1. The physical changes that happen as we age.  The affect these have on people and their motivation to do things.
  2. The blocks to wanting to attend activities and removing them
  3. Creating an interesting activities program and maintaining it.
  4. Understanding personality types and how to motivate them
  5. Person centred activities and how to find and create them
