Moving and handling – Refresher Training

Care work involves helping people to move every day. Your team and the people that use your service are unique. So will the moving and handling refresher your team gets. Each refresher is geared to your team, your residents and your work environment.

You can improve your teams practice this year. Or you just jump through the legal hoop again. They won’t know what their missing. but you will.

Aim

The aim of the day is help your team move and handle the people using your service safely.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the day those who attend will be able to:

1. Identify their role in formal and informal team risk assessments
2. Identify the key sections of relevant legislation
3. Identify the most likely sites of injury for handlers and those being handled
4. Move and handle safely using core principles
5. Problem solving in moving and handling of people
